Class descriptions

  • No matter your definition of beauty, your age, or your skin type, something universally desired is healthy, glowing, hydrated skin. Healthy skin is further defined by even tone, good elasticity, and minimal fine lines. The best way to achieve this? A good skin care regimen.

The first step in an effective skin care regimen is learning what your skin type is and then using products that target your concerns. This class will teach you about a variety of affordable products and techniques that you can do at home, such as double cleansing, exfoliating, and layering topical products with active ingredients such as retinol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and peptides.

  • The products you apply to your skin prior to makeup are just as, if not more, important than your actual makeup application. Properly prepping and priming the face, eyelids, lashes, and lips means that your makeup products will go on more smoothly, last longer, and not seep into fine lines. These steps will also make your pores less noticeable and give your skin a matte or dewy texture. You’ll learn how to choose a primer fory our skin type, how to layer moisturizers and primers evenly, and which products I recommend, based on your budget and skin type.

  • Professional makeup artists use a combination of color correctors and concealers to even out skin tone and conceal imperfections. You’ll learn when it’s appropriate to use a color corrector versus a concealer and the different formulas available to suit specific skin types and colors. You’ll also learn new techniques for how to properly neutralize dark discoloration and lighter pigmented areas of your skin prior to applying foundation and concealer. Your overall complexion will look even and flawless!

  • For many women, the mere thought of buying foundation can be daunting. This informative class will address everything you’ve ever wanted to know about foundation. You’ll learn pro insider tips for finding your perfect shade, choosing the appropriate formula and coverage, and applying it like a professional, so your foundation will do what it’s meant to do: look flawless, provide an even tone, and improve the overall appearance of your skin.

  • Beautifully shaped eyebrows frame your face and are key to any successful makeup application. Whatever your natural brow shape, learning how to properly trim, color, and shape them will enhance your appearance, even if you don’t wear any other makeup products. Using the newest brow products and tools, this class teaches professional techniques for transforming the brows you were born with into ones that look full, natural, and in proportion to your face.

  • Wearing eye shadow is a complement to any makeup look, yet many struggle to get the look right or even avoid it altogether. This class teaches professional techniques for applying eye shadow based on the shape, color, and characteristics of your eyes. You’ll also learn how eye shadow color and placement can have a lifting effect that gives the eyes an appealing shape and definition. With a little practice, you’ll be an expert at applying eye shadow and even having some fun trying some new colors and formulas!

  • Lush, full eyelashes are all the rage these days, and key to achieving that look are mascara and eyeliner. By learning how to choose the right products and how to apply the right formulas (including for fake eyelashes), you’ll achieve not only fuller-looking eyelashes but more open-looking eyes.

  • Blush, bronzer, and contouring all add color to your face. When done correctly, all three can have an enormous impact, transforming your appearance and even faux-altering your facial structure. The trick is knowing which colors and formulas are best for you and how to properly blend them onto your skin. If you have always wanted sculpted cheekbones but struggled with the technique. you will love this class! You’ll learn how to properly apply all three types of products, how to choose the best tones for your skin, when to contour vs highlight, and which formulas pros recommend.

  • Lipsticks are available in a wide range of colors, so finding the right combination of the perfect shade, formula, and finish can seem nearly impossible. In this class, you’ll learn pro tips to choosing a lip color that will complement your skin tone and other makeup products you’re wearing, how to choose the right formula, how to shape your lips, and how to keep your lipstick transfer-proof and long lasting.

  • Makeup won’t last unless you set it! If you feel your makeup disappearing shortly after you apply it, it’s likely you’re skipping two very important steps.

Finishing powder and makeup setting spray can help your makeup last longer and look better by preventing your makeup from creasing and fading throughout the day. Applying a quality, finely milled powder strategically to areas of your face (only where you need it) will help your skin  appear smooth and natural. Setting sprays allow you to choose the finish you want, whether it’s matte or dewy. This class teaches techniques for properly using both products, so your makeup will always have a beautiful, lasting effect!

  • Knowing how to apply makeup for special occasions is a valuable tool to have in your arsenal of beauty tricks. If you like the idea of glamming it up for important events such as a wedding, graduation, or social event, you will love this complete tutorial and demonstration. You’ll learn how to prep skin for long-lasting makeup application, how to apply makeup to look great in photos, simple techniques for dramatic eye looks, and skin care and makeup product recommendations.

  • Skin care and makeup brands are constantly releasing new products, whether to match the season or whatever’s trending at the moment. This class includes a seasonal cosmetic sampling and demonstration that introduces you to some of the popular makeup and skin care products you may have seen advertised and wondered if they are right for you or worth the price tag. You’ll walk away feeling inspired and ready to clean out your makeup bag!
